one shot thrill

Risen from the underbelly of the Coachella Valley music scene. One Shot Thrill has taken risks where others have faltered, pushing their creative comfort zones to achieve a universal sound that couples deep emotional lyrics and haunting melodies with organic and ingenious production.

At the heart of the band is Dan Tapia (producer, vocalist) and Rob Hernandez (singer, songwriter). From their first interaction, the two have challenged each other with a shared vision to cross genres, evoke emotion and purpose in their followers. The duo lead the creative writing process for the band; Dan’s diverse vocal range, ear for unique production paired with Rob’s natural talent to sing, song-write and ability to play multiple instruments make for boundless evolution.

Often asked what motivates the band's lyrics, production, and direction, Tapia shared “we like to write music that does not define us by what we sound like, but by the emotion it draws. Growing up I always had a natural urge to express what I was feeling when battling depression, I was able to do that through music.” The ability to connect with music on an emotional level is shared by all members.

The band pulls from a vast array of musical influences fusing rock, EDM, rap to R&B. The unique sound and direction of the music caught the attention of chart topping record producer Kris Crummett. Shortly after, the band joined Crummett in studio and began recording their latest tracks. In an interview with Noise Creators, Crummett described One Shot Thrill’s sound as “EDM, kind of dark [with] singing and rap […] it’s actually really awesome."

After overwhelming success with their Revolver Magazine debut for music video “Lately” the band gained momentum within the industry and created a cult following. Following their studio session with Crummett, the band collaborated with well-respected director Dillon Novak for their latest music video that takes the listener on a visual and sonic journey.

The band has accumulated half a million streams on various streaming platforms.  They are excited to reach more listeners with the debut of their new EP, slated to launch 2018.

One Shot Thrill proves they are not afraid to push boundaries, awaken emotion and bleed through genres.
